Attending the Cannes film festival, realizing that his work was only screened by the organizers on a laptop, director `Rom` Tran Thanh Huy was shocked.

– It took eight years to make `Ròm`, first time watching the movie on the big screen in the country, what do you think?

– I don’t watch movies anymore but prefer to observe viewers.

– How do you receive opinions about the film?

– I read a lot of positive feedback about Rom.

Now, I advise those things to my younger brother Tran Anh Khoa.

– Why did you choose your younger brother to play Rom?

– If it weren’t for Khoa, no one would accept this role.

However, I am not always `hard-hearted`.

Tran Anh Khoa – the role of Rom (right) and Anh Tu Wilson – the role of Phuc – two rivals working as brokers in the movie.

– Pursuing `Rom`, what do you have to trade?

– I’m about to reach middle age now, the time working on Rom was my entire youth.

When making Rom, my brothers and I just wanted to satisfy ourselves, not thinking about how much revenue it would generate or how it would be screened at international film festivals.

– Why did you choose the story about boys as the `trigger`?

– I see a special fate in the group of people who specialize in `triggering` the lottery – advising numbers for lottery players.

Since childhood, I have been in contact with boys selling lottery tickets.
