In 1997, Bill Gates agreed to pour $150 million into Apple to save Apple from bankruptcy.

The relationship between Bill Gates and Steve Jobs, both friends and rivals, has become legendary in the technology world.

`Bill, thank you. The world is a better place,` Jobs told Gates after the Microsoft founder agreed to invest $150 million in Apple.

This news shocked both the business and technology communities.

To survive, Jobs had to suppress the idea of competition.

The two founders did just that, even though their cooperation was opposed.

Warren Buffett’s question helped Microsoft become a giant

For Microsoft, this investment will revive one of their biggest competitors.

`This investment has worked out pretty well,` Gates said in a 2007 forum. `In fact, every few years, we’re able to create something new for the Mac. And here it is.`

In addition, according to the agreement, Apple also dropped a lawsuit accusing Microsoft of copying its operating system.

The 1997 deal did not end competition between the two companies.

`Today, this is still a legend that shows that cooperation can completely go hand in hand with competition,` commented Code Academy.

When Jobs passed away in 2011, Gates honored the Apple legend as both a rival and a friend.
