Despite being rumored to reunite with West Ham, former Man Utd player Jesse Lingard signed a one-year contract with newly promoted team Nottingham Forest.

Lingard has been a free player for a month now, after his contract expired and was not renewed by Man Utd.

Lingard passed a medical examination on the evening of July 21, local time, and was immediately announced by Forest as their ninth rookie in the summer of 2022. This player also confirmed his new destination with a short video wearing a suit.

Lingard then moved to Germany – where Forest was undergoing summer training – to join his new team.

Lingard’s decision is bitter for West Ham.

However, West Ham still persists in negotiations and hopes Lingard changes his mind.

Before Lingard, Forest recruited another Man Utd player – goalkeeper Dean Henderson – on loan.

Lingard grew up from Man Utd’s academy and joined the first team in the 2011-2012 season.
