The threat from the US F-35 fighter is considered the main reason forcing China to commission J-20 aircraft, despite many unresolved issues.

The J-20 stealth fighter was commissioned by China in small numbers on March 10.

The J-20 is only used in very small numbers because China cannot mass produce the WS-15 domestic engine.

`There are still a series of technical issues that need to be resolved on the J-20, including the reliability of the WS-15 engine, aircraft control system, stealth coating, body frame materials and infrared sensors

While Beijing tries to put the J-20 into service to compete with the F-35, China’s aircraft will not be directly compared with the US F-22 and F-35 duo.

China is developing the PL-15 missile with a jet engine and a range of 192 km.

China hastily commissioned the J-20 fighter.

In fact, the problem is not just that the PL-15 will exceed AMRAAM’s range.

A report by the RAND research organization said that the US Air Force will have to deploy at least three refueling aircraft per hour to provide 9.8 million liters of fuel to maintain the operation of F-22 fighters to Taiwan.

There is not much specific data about the J-20, but it seems to be optimized for high speed, long range, stealth against radar and large weapon payload.

RAND research in 2008 showed that Chinese-made Su-27 variants destroyed all tanker, maritime patrol, reconnaissance, early warning and command aircraft with long-range air-to-air missiles.

The US Air Force has considered dispersing bases and building a logistics system to supply field airfields, in order to counter China’s anti-intrusion/access denial (A2/AD) strategy in the area.

The F-35 has little chance of directly confronting the J-20.

The only answer is that they must be withdrawn to a safe zone, outside the range of threats from the Chinese air force.

The US Air Force Command recognizes this problem and is designing a 6th generation aircraft (PCA) to replace the F-22 in extremely long-range missions.

`We are analyzing the moves of potential adversaries, then obviously, we have to strengthen our capabilities to ensure we carry out the desired mission. So, we will prepare to
