On the evening of April 2, Chelsea announced their farewell to coach Graham Potter, one day after losing to Aston Villa and falling to the bottom half of the Premier League.

The two co-owners of Chelsea – Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali – both emphasized that they respect Potter’s talent and professional demeanor, and both sides are disappointed with this outcome.

Chelsea announced the decision to fire Potter after a meeting between the board of directors and the British military leader himself.

Potter had to leave Chelsea after just over six months of work.

Potter is expected to stop the crisis when he takes office at Stamford Bridge on September 8, 2022, replacing his fired predecessor Thomas Tuchel.

In the Premier League alone, in 22 matches under Potter, Chelsea won seven, drew seven and lost eight.

Chelsea spends more than 600 million USD from the summer of 2022, including more than 400 million USD in January 2023, to buy a series of famous players.

Currently, there are two names that Chelsea is considering appointing to replace Potter, including Julian Nagelsmann – coach who just left Bayern last week, and Mauricio Pochettino – former coach of Tottenham and PSG.
